1980 Vespa P200E
The Good:
- Decent paint job (not perfect, has some chips)
- Polini kit, freshly bored with a new piston
- High compression head, shaped for a Polini kit
- Keihin PWK 28mm D-Slide Carb
- Fuel Pump
- Pinasco Lightened Flywheel
- New Sito Plus Exhaust
- New Mazuchelli crank with new rod and bearings
- New Main bearing, flywheel side bearing, rear wheel bearing (I think)
- All new seals and gaskets
- Fairly new clutch
- Front and Rear Bitubo shocks
- Polished front hub
- Side stand AND center stand
- Funky fuzzy DASMI seat
The Bad:
- Air leak. I can't find it or fix it. I have a replacement case set for it, but I don't want to rebuild the engine. The replacement case is set up for a reed block, and has massive porting to match a Polini kit (it was ported by Mike Pepper at south Bay Scooter Works). All parts in the existing engine are good, and could just be moved to the replacement case.
- Left side is dented under the seat. See photo. I hit the back of a car sideways (skidding) and the corner of the cars bumper nailed the left cowl right in the middle. The cowl was destroyed, and the frame was dented by by the impact of the cowl. I was able to partially pound out the dent by removing the gas tank and banging on it from the inside. It could be totally repaired with some diligence and a new cowl.
- Paint is not perfect
- 50,000 miles (but most stuff has been replaced anyway)
- CPSC sticker not included (but the cat sticker is)
- Funky fuzzy DASMI seat
